New Salem Media Team’s own Sterling Carter and Isaiah Jones uplift Linden with nationally recognized documentary
In 2022, A Beloved Community: A Healthier Linden; a short-form documentary highlighting transformational initiatives and partnerships in the Linden Community (Columbus, Ohio) was selected to be screened nationally by Gateway Entertainment in the Indigenous Filmmakers Lounge. Kudos to Sterling Carter with the assistance of Isaiah Jones for a special gift of their talents to the Linden community.

Sterling Carter is an award-winning videographer and a gifted creative. As an emerging filmmaker and producer, he is passionate about using his platform for the greater good and lifting the voices of people who are often overlooked but well deserving of the spotlight. Two of his short-form documentaries have been featured during Sundance Film Festivals.
New Salem’s Camera and Cinematography Lead, Sterling has a B.A. in radio, television, and film and over 10 years of experience. He is the founder of The Carter Effect offering event filmmaking and commercial video production services. Sterling has served as cinematographer for New Salem Missionary Baptist Church since 2019. Whether it is a Sunday sermon, corporate video production, or highlighting cultural arts and small businesses in the community, The Carter Effects impact and the gift of storytelling is as diverse as the voices he unites.
Isaiah Jones, a freshman at Ohio University studying Film Production and Multimedia, serves on the New Salem Media Team as a lead cameraman. He started learning and practicing video production in high school serving in the church’s media ministry. Jones works with Carter and The Carter Effect on a variety of video production projects both for the church and in the community.
